About TEFES

The  Educational Foundation of East Stroudsburg (TEFES) was established to broaden and enrich the educational programs and opportunities for students.

The Foundation was formed by a few business leaders and community residents to provide a resource with the sole purpose of preserving, supporting and ensuring a solid and vibrant educational experience for students attending the East Stroudsburg Area School District. Governed by a volunteer board of directors comprised of business leaders, patrons, educators and community residents, the Foundation directs literally every dollar back to the students.

In many cases, business/education partnerships are formed to enhance the educational opportunities for the students of East Stroudsburg School District. Healthy and dynamic partnerships provide a business with a way to "give something back" to the citizens of their community.

Independent of the school district, the Foundation raises and disburses funds for projects and scholarships beyond those supported by regular school sources. The additional funding helps fill the gap that exists between the programs, products, equipment, and facilities, that students, teachers, coaches and district administrators would like to have and those available to them through district budgeting.

The Education Foundation of East Stroudsburg has thus established itself as a part of the support for public education in the communities served by the school district and will continue to involve those communities in pursuit of excellence in education.

Mission

The Education Foundation of East Stroudsburg (TEFES) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, supporting and ensuring a solid and vibrant (vital or relevant) educational experience for students attending East Stroudsburg Area School District schools; through the support of literacy, arts, mathematics, science, technology, civics, sports and innovative enhancements that assist our children to accelerate and exceed their own expectations.

Purpose

The purpose of The Education Foundation is to raise funds through the support of the community, civic and private business leaders, to provide resources to support innovative opportunities that prepare our children for success.

The Education Foundation is a Center of Excellence that:

• Enhances student development and improves achievement
• Encourages community involvement and business partnerships in education
• Strengthens our teachers in the classroom
• Enhances learning opportunities
• Accelerates student performance

The Foundation will raise and appropriate funds that provide programs, scholarships, tools, products, services, experiences, and professional development for teachers and administrators that support the education of our children.  Through the many services, which the foundation will provide, we will build leaders for tomorrow.
